Mommie Greenest was started in 2007, in memory of
Britiani Marie Creciun, August 8, 1984 - December 21, 1998.
Shortly after her birth, it was determined that Brit had a "multiple diagnosis" which included brain issues and seizures. Then, at four years of age, she was diagnosed with the worst... leukemia on top of eveyrthing else. After years of battle, Britiani succumbed to "blastic liver-spleen cancer" at the age of 14. To commemorate her 14 valiant years, each fiscal year a percentage of profits will be donated to Brit's two favorite camps and childhood cancer research.
Brit and her Mommie always appreciated the many gifts received through 87 hospital stays, 2 battles with leukemia, and hemotherapy. However, Brit used to ask "Why don't flowers stay alive forever?", "Why do balloons fall down?", and "Why can't I have balloons in my special hospital room".
Brit, and Tammy, received so many thoughtful tokens of affection throughout her illness that this is a way to give back, in a sense. Loving and caring for her child through the everyday parts of her illness, in addition to the hospitalizations... thinking of gifts that other people could use, keep, and enjoy... this is how Mommie Greenest was birthed! Cancer patients may not be able to have fresh flowers - but they can have flowers made of socks and scarves, or small washcloths, etc. They can use these items and have such a wonderful memory of the person who thought of them.
